The eligible list created from this recruitment may be used to fill these vacancies as well as others that may arise over the next twelve months.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE CLASSIFICATION
Under general supervision of higher level data processing staff, performs a variety of technical duties involving the operation, installation, maintenance, and support of mini and microcomputer hardware and software systems; to serve as system administrator for the assigned data processing system; to develop mini and microcomputer application programs; and to do related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES
Positions allocated to this class are responsible for providing technical support in the operation and maintenance of mini and microcomputer systems for a Department's/Agency's in house data processing needs within established guidelines. In contrast with incumbents of the Information Systems Technician I classification, the Information Systems Technician II performs the full range of duties assigned to positions in the class under minimal supervision where Information Systems Technician I are still working in a training capacity. Positions in this class differ from positions in the class of Information Systems Specialist in that the latter performs professional duties involving the analysis, development, and implementation of data processing systems or sub systems requiring a comprehensive knowledge of overall system operation and design.
The examination will consist of the following steps: A review of candidates' applications to verify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess the minimum requirements for the class will move on to the next step in the examination process, which is a review of the supplemental questionnaire (Experience Self-Assessment) to determine the best qualified candidates. Those candidates deemed to be best qualified will then move to the next phase of the examination, a examination interview. The examination interview will be weighted as 100% of the candidates' final examination score. The examination interview may contain situational exercises. Candidates must attain a qualifying rating on each portion of this recruitment. * WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE ANNOUNCED EXAMINATION STEPS.

03/27/2015 Examination Recruitment Bulletin Release
On 03/27/2015 the examination recruitment bulletin will be released. At that time, you may begin to submit applications. All applications must be filled out according to the instructions. Applications and assessment that are not fully completed or not completed following the instructions listed will not be considered. Resumes in lieu of properly filled out applications will not be considered. Only applications submitted electronically, via the County's online application system, by the final file date will be accepted. Be aware that if you only complete an application template and fail to submit it to apply for this position, your application will not be accepted.

At 5:00:00 PM on 04/21/2015 the online system will discontinue accepting "on time" applications. Applications submitted after this date and time will not be accepted. No changes, subtractions or additions can be made to the application or supplemental questionnaire once your application has been submitted.

Review for Minimum Qualifications
During this time, your application will be reviewed to ensure that you meet the minimum qualifications as stated above. If you fail to meet the minimum qualifications, you will be notified via email. If you do meet the minimum qualifications, you will move on to have your supplemental application reviewed.
Review of Supplemental Questionnaire
If you meet the minimum qualifications as stated above, a review of your supplemental questionnaire will be conducted. It is imperative that you are diligent and thorough when completing your supplemental questionnaire. The information that you provide will be used to weigh your experience against other competitors, and only the best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the next step of the examination. If you are deemed to not be one of the best qualified candidates, you will be notified via email. If you are deemed a best qualified candidate, you will be notified via email of your scheduled examination interview date, time and location.
Week of 05/04/2015 Interview Examination Dates
Once you have been deemed best qualified, you will be invited for an interview examination. During this interview examination, you will be asked to provide examples of past work experiences that highlight the job-related core competencies those successful incumbents of the position possess. This type of interviewing is called behavior-based interviewing and is the best predictor of future job success. Your interview examination may include a situational exercise where you may have to perform mock job duties to prove your level of competency.
