The DoIT Health & Social Services Support Unit has a current vacancy for Business Systems Analyst. The Business Systems Analyst is a position that plans, analyzes, develops, tests and implements information technology system solutions to address the business needs of Solano County Departments. This position will also implement and support the new system for Older & Disabled Adult Services Division as well as work closely with Health & Social Services Department to enhance and manage their intranet and Network of Care sites and site collections.
The ideal candidate for this position should be an organized, team player who can work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, communicate effectively, and adapt to a regularly changing landscape. Additionally, this person should have experience:
Solano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage for the 2016 calendar year is $1,455.62 per month. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. The County may offer a supplemental contribution for employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage.
Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.
Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.
The County observes 12 fixed, paid holidays per year.
Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years.
Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.
Employees are eligible to receive an additional 2.5% longevity pay, per level, after the completion of continuous service at 10, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years.

This Supplemental Questionnaire will be used to determine applicants’ qualifications for this position and assess an applicant’s ability to advance in the recruitment process; therefore, applicants are encouraged to answer all questions thoroughly and completely. 1. Describe your experience with evaluating, documenting, and streamlining business
processes. Include the purpose, your role, the steps you took, tools used, and the outcome of
the analysis.
2. Describe your experience implementing, supporting and enhancing SharePoint sites and site
collections. Include the tools you worked with, your level of involvement, responsibility, and
duties performed.
3. Describe your experience leading technology related projects. Include overall goal, tasks
performed, size of project, and outcome.
4. Describe your experience supporting Health and Social Services software applications, including
EHRs, HIEs, Case Management Systems, and Patient and/or Provider Portals. Include your role
and area of support.
5. Describe your experience creating reports and dashboards. Include tools used, how
requirements were provided, and the number and types of data sources accessed.
Independent travel may be required.
Incumbents are required to work outside normal business hours.
Candidates for positions in this class will be required to pass a background investigation in accordance with applicable law, regulation, and/or policy.
To be eligible, applicant must have served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions. A COPY OF THE DD 214, SHOWING DISCHARGE TYPE (GENERALLY COPY 4), MUST BE RECEIVED IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT BY THE FINAL FILING DATE. Applicants who have a service connected disability must also submit a recent award letter from the VA stating they are receiving disability benefits for service connected reasons.
Veteran applicants for initial County employment with an honorable or general under conditions discharge shall receive five (5) points added to their combined score. Disabled veterans rated at not less than 30% disability shall have ten (10) points added to their combined score. Veteran’s preference points will only be added to passing scores in competitive open examinations.
