Placer County is currently recruiting Accountant Auditor - II candidates to fill Accountant Auditor and Internal Auditor assignments.
Internal Auditor: To plan, coordinate and conduct audits of County departments, divisions and funds, prepare and issue audit reports, and provide recommendations for efficiencies and improvement. To perform external audits to determine the financial status, legality, propriety and effectiveness of the establishment’s financial and accounting practices and procedures. The ideal candidate would have two years’ experience performing internal auditing for a government or other agency or as an external auditor in the practice of public accounting.
Accountant Auditor II: To perform a variety of complex professional accounting and auditing work which depending on assignment may include any of the following; to review, analyze and maintain accounting and financial records; to develop and implement accounting and financial procedures and systems; to prepare complex financial reports; to monitor and report on budget trends, financial transactions, tax billings and collections, or accounts; to plan, coordinate and conduct audits of County departments, divisions, districts and funds; to provide recommendations for efficiencies and improvements; and may supervise or provide technical and clerical accounting and/or general clerical personnel.
Lateral Transfer/Other Agency List (Public Agency Eligible List – PAEL)
Placer County offers an expedited process for qualifying certain applicants for interviews. Candidates currently employed, or employed within the last year, by a public agency operating under a personnel civil service or merit system may be eligible to be placed on a Public Agency Eligible List and certified as eligible for appointment to a similar job assignment without going through the examination process. Those hired from this process will typically be considered new employees for purposes of determining seniority, benefits, and other leave accruals.
