There are currently two permanent, full-time vacancies within the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department. Incumbents will be assigned to support one of the following divisions:
Administrative Services: The Administrative Services division provides administrative support, including fiscal and contract services, to all HHS department areas. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining cost analyses and program evaluations related to the Administrative Services budget and priority-based programs, preparing complex analytical and statistical reports, and performing a variety of special assignments and projects for the Director of Administrative Services.
Adult System of Care (ASOC): ASOC helps Placer County adults and older adults achieve their optimal level of self-sufficiency and independence by providing mental health services, substance abuse treatment, and in-home support services. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting and assisting all ASOC programs with a variety of projects, including preparing complex analytical and statistical reports, developing grant applications, conducting and reviewing analytical studies and surveys, and reviewing and maintaining ongoing program evaluations.
The eligible list resulting from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future permanent and extra help positions in the Auburn, South Placer, and Tahoe areas as needed.
To perform difficult and complex administrative studies related to the organization and operation of assigned County departments, divisions or programs and to assist in the formulation and implementation of administrative policies and procedures.
This is the entry level class in the Staff Services Analyst series. This class is distinguished from the journey by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters allocated to the journey level. This class is typically used as a training class relative to the County Civil Service System. Employees work under general supervision while learning job tasks.

Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public or business administration, government, political or social science or a related field.
License or Certificate: May need to possess a valid driver's license as required by the position. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
NOTE: Relevant, equivalent experience (performing the same or similar job requiring similar knowledge, skills, and abilities) may be substituted for the required education as determined by the Human Resources Department.

All new permanent employees, with the exception of sworn law enforcement and those in management and confidential groups, shall be required to join the employee organization or pay an 'Agency Fee' as a condition of employment.
The eligible list resulting from this recruitment may be certified as a substitute list for a substantially similar classification. For this purpose, a substantially similar classification is one at a lower level in the same classification (example: entry level vs. journey) and/or a similar classification (similar work performed, similar training and experience qualifications required). If you choose not to interview for a substantially similar classification, you will remain on the eligible list for which you originally applied.
