Loudoun County's Code Enforcement Division of the Department of Building & Development is seeking qualified applicants for a position as a Plumbing Inspector.
Description: Conducts all requested plumbing and gas system inspections. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of materials, methods and practices involved in installing and maintaining all components of buildings, structures, and equipment as defined in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, as well as the ability to interpret construction plans and documents; Exercises diplomacy and tact in enforcing the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code; Must have the ability to conduct visual and physical inspections, climb ladders and stairs, maneuver in crawl spaces and through construction debris. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with owners, architects and contractors.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a High School diploma or equivalent and at least four (4) years of experience in a related field.
The appointee to this position must obtain certification issued by the State Board of Housing and Community Development as a Plumbing and Gas Inspector within the timeframe stated on State guidelines from the time of employment and maintain the required certifications in accordance with Virginia Certification Standards. Position requires a valid driver’s license and driving record check.
