The Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Residential Counselor. This position will provide intensive community treatment services with adults with serious mental illnesses, and/or co-occurring substance abuse and/or developmental disabilities. Services include assessments and evaluations; intensive case management, including medication case management; crisis intervention and stabilization; clinical and administrative supervision to subordinate staff; and interagency consultation and coordination of treatment services. Maintains all clinical records and documentation according to federal, state and agency policies and procedures. Must be knowledgeable in mental health issues, demonstrate strong clinical and organizational skills, and function well as a member of a clinical team. Work schedule is flexible, to include days, evenings and/or weekends.
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling and/or Marriage and Family Therapy and three (3) years professional experience in the provision of mental health services. Experience working with persons with serious mental illness is preferred.
Prefer Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field and a minimum of one (1) year professional experience in the provision of mental health services. VA clinical licensure as LPC, LMFT, or LCSW preferred.
