Loudoun County's Administrative Division/Technology Team of the Department of Building and Development is seeking qualified applicants for a position as a Systems Programmer/Analyst. This is a regular, full-time position that is primarily responsible for implementation and ongoing support of departmental databases and mainframe/web based data repositories. This position works closely with a team of technical and administrative staff who support the County’s Building and Development technology requirements. Position requires working with IT staff in the Department of Information Technology for the County, software vendors, other cross-Departmental IT staff, and County leaders. Responsibilities include implementation and ongoing technical support for new and existing databases, their interfaces to other systems and training/support. Systems analysis, development, implementation, and some technical project management experience are required. Candidate must be proficient with MS ACCESS and VISUAL BASIC. In addition, exhibited experience with MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio, relational databases (MS SQL or Oracle), and Windows is necessary. Desired experience and skills with: Crystal Reports, SQL on DB2 and MS Office Macros. Excellent verbal and writing skills are required as this position will communicate with IT staff, departmental management, and the general public. The ability to maintain superior customer service relationships is also required. The position reports to the department’s Human Resources and Technology Team Leader.
Combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field and three years experience in systems design, development/implementation, and some project management. Must have excellent communication skills, along with a POSITIVE attitude and lots of energy!
