An incumbent in this class develops, implements and oversees the operation of treatment service programs on a regional or statewide basis.
Nature and Scope
A class incumbent functions under the direction of an administrative superior and is responsible for developing and implementing the operational policies and procedures for a treatment services program. Work includes establishing evaluation criteria, monitoring program effectiveness in accomplishing goals and objectives and revising existing or establishing new program policies and procedures. In addition, class incumbents are responsible for supervising volunteer and/or permanent staff responsible for providing program services to clients, or depending on the scope of the assigned program, subordinate program coordinators responsible for overseeing program operations in an assigned geographical area. Class incumbents also participate in the development of policies, goals and objectives for the unit, preparation of grant proposals, and conduct research studies on program related topics. Typical contacts are with judges, masters, other social service and community organizations for the purpose of promoting program support, providing information, recruitment of volunteers and resolving program related issues. A significant aspect of the work is coordinating program activities between geographical areas to ensure policies and procedures are consistent with overall program goals and objectives.

Participates with other administrative staff in the development of policies, objectives and goals of the Treatment Services Program.
Develops and implements operational policies and procedures for assigned treatment service program. Evaluates program effectiveness in achieving goals and objectives.
Recruits and selects volunteer and/or permanent staff; Develops and conducts training programs.
Plans, assigns reviews and evaluates the work of staff responsible for providing program services to clients. Provides technical guidance on the methods of handling complex cases.
Monitors program activities to insure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepares and maintains statistical records and reports as well as special reports as required of program activities and problem areas. Recommends methods of resolving same.
Meets with community, civic and social service organizations to promote program, obtain support and resolve issues related to program activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Family Court Senior Program Coordinator Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Three years experience in health or human services work such as applying theories, principles, laws and practices of health or human services programs and services that assist with and improve life for individuals, families, or communities such as financial support, employment, unemployment, housing, health care, disease prevention, substance abuse, child protective services, physical/mental health treatment and prevention or rehabilitation.
Six months experience in program evaluation which includes evaluating programs and services to identify problems, determine compliance and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency to ensure program goals and overall objectives are met.
Six months experience in recommending alternatives, improvements, courses of action and other changes based on findings.
Three years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
Six months experience in staff supervision of two or more employees which includes to plan, assign, review, discipline, recommend hire, promotion, termination and administer performance plans and reviews.
