A class incumbent provides a variety of administrative and clinical support services to various Mental Health Clinics within a county.
Nature and Scope
An incumbent in this class reports to an administrative superior and is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of mental health clinics at various locations throughout the county. An incumbent oversees clinical services such as medical records, management, information requests from clients, external client record requests, inventory, purchasing, equipment maintenance and repair, telephone support, and supervision of clerical support staff.

Plans, coordinates and supervises office support activities for the Mental Health Clinics within the county.
Reviews client charts to ensure compliance standards are being met such as appropriate signatures on client's records and documentation of the provision of client services.
Ensures support services are provided at the clinic sites involving forms/records management, inventory, purchasing, equipment maintenance and repair and clerical support.
Assists clients by providing supportive counseling and referrals to community resources.
Approves subordinates' time sheets for payroll.
Prepares a variety of reports upon request.
Orients and assists in training new clinic and/or contract provider staff regarding division procedures and policies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Community Mental Health Center Services Coordinator Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Six months experience in community resources which includes programs and services that assist with and improve life for individuals, families, and communities in the areas such as financial support, employment, unemployment, housing, health care, disease prevention, substance abuse, child protective services, physical/mental health treatment and prevention, or rehabilitation.
Six months experience in office management which includes managing, directing and coordinating office operations to ensure efficient operation of the office; analyzing and recommending improvements in work flow and office procedures.
Six months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
Six months experience in narrative report writing.
Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.
