Part-Time: 30 hours/week
Part-Time Benefits: Health, vision, dental,paid holidays, pension and tax-deferred compensation (457) plans, plus those benefits required by law such as social security and worker’s compensation.
Plans, promotes and conducts recreational activities; teaches and/or oversees theatre art, fine arts, special events for participants of all ages and abilities; schedules center activities; counsels participants as necessary.
Plans, organizes and conducts diverse programs in fine arts and teaches a variety of fine arts classes.
Performs clerical work; prepares and submits reports; verifies purchase orders and requisitions; takes orders and purchases supplies for activities; checks in and puts supplies away; receives monies from class participants; writes receipts for supplies and equipment; maintains records, logs, lists, and forms.
Inspects recreational facilities and equipment to ensure safety; enforces proper safety practices and occupational safety rules and regulations; oversees operation of assigned area in absence of higher level workers; ensures security of building.
Directs visitors at center; answers phones and provides information concerning programs and use of center.
Performs related work as required.
Working knowledge of: fine art techniques, aids, and use and care of equipment applicable to a wide fine arts activities; first aid and CPR; emotional and physical problems of preschool children, the disabled or the elderly; basic records keeping.
Ability to: coordinate and conduct recreational and group activities; maintain records and compile reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, community groups and the general public; perform activities requiring light to moderate physical strength and endurance; work with all age groups and disabilities.
Skill in: administering first aid and CPR; care/maintenance of recreational equipment; operating power tools and sound and light systems.
