Examples of Duties:
Working knowledge of: database infrastructure planning, implementation, and maintenance with special emphasis on change control, version upgrades, storage maintenance, and performance tuning; relational database design; various other technical disciplines including one or more of the following; client/server application development, web application development, third party application installation and configuration, OS configuration and troubleshooting, hardware configuration and troubleshooting; information security practices. Knowledge of C# or Visual Basic .NET a plus
Ability to: troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve current and potential operational and system deficiencies and provide continued service availability;Demonstrate a customer centric work ethic while maintaining an effective working relationship with technical and non-technical staff; conduct independent research and prepare reports; analyze information and document procedures and processes; prepare detailed procedures manuals; perform project staff and librarian duties; express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Technical Skills: Automate tasks using job scheduling software, T-SQL, python, power shell and other scripting languages as required; Develop SQL Server T-SQL code when performing data changes, schema changes, and stored procedures; Develop ETL processes using SQL data tools or other software; Query, and SQL object creation using SQL Management Studio; Develop reports using SQL Server Report Builder or other software; deploying Visual Studio application solutions using Team Foundation Server; migrating data from MS Access to SQL Server.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field computing field and one (1) year of experience in business systems (analyzing data and manual systems for data processing application); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree or higher with a major in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely-related computing field, and (4) four years in information technology, including (2) two years of experience in relational database administration.
