The City and County of San Francisco, Department of Technology (DT), is seeking an experienced VOiP Telecom Engineer who will enhance our customer's telephony experience by planning, building and running a resilient, scalable and cost effective unified communication systems for the City & County of San Francisco (CCSF) through the Citywide VoIP Project.
The Service Delivery and Technology Division focuses on the delivery of service and systems in the critical areas of information technology and infrastructure as-a-service (ITaaS/IaaS), Software-Defined Data Centers (SDDC), Software-Defined Networks (SDN), application development, platform as a service (PaaS), database administration, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) development and administration, infrastructure engineering and development (including data centers, networks, and application/platform systems). Examples of projects include the architecture, design and implementation of infrastructure systems such as datacenter virtualization and VM implementation, connectivity systems such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and wireless networks (WiFi) technologies and equipment. In the area of application development and support, systems implementations and support include relational database administration (Oracle, MS SQL, etc), software design and coding, and platform administration such as SharePoint Online, ServiceNow, etc. To accomplish these projects, the division works with vendors, consultants, contractors and policy makers to support the various departments of the City and County of San Francisco.
The Service Delivery and Technology Division is responsible for engineering, designing, implementing and developing systems and infrastructure as described above. This includes detailed expertise and due diligence on systems architectures and designs, technology trends and best practices, Information Technology Service Model (ITSM), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and other industry standard technology practices.
Essential Job Duties and Functions: According to Civil Service Commission Rule 109, the duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive list.
1. Manage and assist with the implementation of the Core VoIP System at both datacenters.
2. Manage and implement two SIP Trunks one for each datacenter.
3. Manage and migrate DT old Call manager to new Call Manager which includes 9 departments.
4. Manage and migrate Rec & Park from their old Call Manage onto DT Call Manager.
5. Manage and assist with the migration of 106 PBX systems to DT Core VoIP system.
6. Manage and assist with Call Center implementations
7. Manage and assist with the Collaboration implementation.
8. Related duties as assigned.
Job Type: This Permanent Exempt - Full Time position is excluded by the Charter from the competitive civil service examination process and shall serve at the discretion of the appointing officer. This position has an anticipated duration of up to three (3) years and will not result in an eligible list or permanent civil service hiring.
Work Location: Incumbent will conduct the majority of work at the Department of Technology, One South Van Ness, 2nd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103.
Nature of Work: Candidate must be willing to work a 40-hour week as determined by the department.
These minimum qualifications establish the education, training, experience, special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification. An associate degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].
Five (5) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network.
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.
· Extreme knowledge of VoIP and Video protocols; SIP SS7, RTP, TLS, SCCP, H.323 H.264 and MGCP. · Good understanding of Cisco UCCE/PCCE design, implementation and operations
· Strong technical understanding and experience with Cisco Contact Center solutions
· Knowledge of UCCE, PCCE and UCCX
· Experience with Cisco B/C serious UCS servers and UCS Manage
· Experience with VMWare ESX 4.0, 4.1, 5, and 5.1
