ABOUT THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE AND DATA WAREHOUSING TEAM
Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse is a new unit in the Human Services Agency (HSA) Department of Information Technology established to consolidate data from different data sources, validate data and to empower our agency to develop Operational and Strategic reporting capabilities. The objective of integrating different data bases and developing the capabilities to slice and dice data will help our Agency derive better insights in order to improve our operations and increase our customer satisfaction. The scope of the project is to provide the ability of performing business analysis and intelligence across Human Services Agency. The team is responsible for procuring and integrating data from the various systems within the HSA to build out executive dashboards and ad hoc reporting solutions.
The BI & Data Warehousing team at HSA is on the move! With that, we are seeking technologists that are committed to using their tech skills to enrich the lives of others and the community. HSA is looking for a Report Designer to architect, design and support the implementation and maintenance of critical dashboards and subject areas for its reporting teams. You will be collaborating directly with the different analysts in the organization to decipher reporting requirements. You will be working on delivering key reports and building out new subject areas to support critical analytics that would help our residents and the community. We are looking for an expert in their field who is technical, strategic, collaborative and analytical. 1. Develop reports in Oracle on-premise, Oracle BI cloud, Hyperion or similar business intelligence reporting tools.
2. Develop and create BI reporting solutions by utilizing the Microsoft BI/Oracle BI stack which includes: SQL Server (i.e. t-sql, stored procedures, query optimization), Reporting Services, Analysis Services (OLAP), Power BI and Excel pivot tables & graphs.
3. Validate source data against output to ensure data quality and validate ETL design.
4. Create and manage ad-hoc/canned reports and dashboards.
5. Determine operating characteristics and requirements; develop or modify and document general system design; write detailed design specifications; conduct "walkthroughs" for proposed solutions to system problems.
6. Design and develop program specific business intelligence reports; program specific ad-hoc reports; appropriate ETL for Oracle B.I database; Oracle business intelligence dashboards.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
An associate degree in computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field].
Three (3) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network system.
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.
