Information Technology and Telecommunications (ITT) is a telecom, network, internet and hosting service provider to the Airport Commission and its business partners including airlines, concession tenants and government agencies. ITT's vision is to lead the way in taking on new challenges in technology adoption and management in the aviation industry and the government sector.
Environmental Policy & Sustainability (EPS) unit is tasked with overseeing compliance with various City Environmental Ordinances; developing and implementing an Environmental Management System; developing an SFO Sustainability Plan and Zero Waste Solid Waste Management Plan, and; providing oversight of the Environmental Cost Recovery Program. In addition, the Section Manager is delegated the responsibilities of SFO Environmental Policy Director (EPD). The EPD responsibilities include ensuring consistency across the organization for regulatory compliance, environmental policy, and environmental initiative adoption practices.
Contract Management provides support services to all Design and Construction contract/project managers in the preparation of contracts, solicitation processes, contract certifications and payment processing. This includes preparation, routing, review, tracking of contract payment packages; assembling contract certification packages; preparation of Request for Qualifications/Proposals, including facilitation and oversight of the proposal and interview processes.
Terminal Systems/Wayfinding section is responsible for the day-to-day activities of terminal systems operations in all common use facilities to ensure optimal service levels with common use systems users including: aircraft gate management, passenger processing (airline reservations, check-in, seat assignments, etc.), baggage processing (baggage delivery, baggage carousels, security screening, etc.), computerized ticket counter allocation systems, passenger loading bridges, and flight information displays.
Contracts Administration unit is committed to ensuring that all Airport professional services and construction contracts comply with the appropriate requirements mandated by the City and County of San Francisco. Staff provides proactive expert contract development advice to the airport contract/project managers and staff.
Safety and Security Services section provides the necessary services to ensure SFO remains a safe, secure and efficient operating environment for the traveling public; needed inspection and oversight to maintain the airports operating certificate; compliance with federal security mandates; critical emergency dispatching services for police, fire, maintenance and operational personnel; and maintains the airport's internal radio communication systems and infrastructure.
Planning and Environmental Affairs section guides facility development to ensure that air passenger, air cargo, airline, and airport support facilities are developed in response to demand and consistent with the Airport's goals; directs the Airport's environmental planning and permitting initiatives; and coordinates with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the airlines, the general public, and other stakeholders to address concerns about aircraft noise and overflights through an "open-door" policy.
