Full time positions are available for:
MATERIAL HANDLER
JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Performs various functions involving moving materials from one location to another within the production facility. This position must be able to safely operate forklift(s). The position receives, retrieves, locates, pulls, wraps, and loads materials in the inventory stock to be used in the production process. This involves moving materials from one production station to another on the production assembly line, organizing stock and inventory, preparing finished goods for shipping, loading finished goods onto trucks, and wrapping finished goods to protect the goods during shipment. This position accurately completes documentation for the receipt of goods, both on paper and in the computer system(s). Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately comprehend instruction, verbal and written
Properly identify parts, pieces, products used in the production process
Efficiently move materials from one location to another
Efficiently organize shelving and other various areas of the production line
Properly unload and load materials received and goods shipped
Efficiently wrap/package goods being shipped as instructed/required
Properly and safely operate forklift equipment
Properly and safely operate crane equipment
Efficiently perform visual inspections and identify quality defects
Effectively utilize designated systems to document quality defects
Effectively communicate with other team members throughout the organization verbally, in writing, via email and telephone
Proficiently use computer systems to track, log, locate, move materials within the production system/process
Understand and abide by all safety policies and requirements
Wear appropriate PPE as required
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Reading and comprehension skills
Ability to comprehend instructions received both written and verbally provided
Basic computer systems utilization skills
LEAN Manufacturing experience desirable
Problem solving skills and basic thinking and reasoning skills
Highly detail oriented, neat and organized
Technical or vocational training on specific mechanical systems assemblies’ a plus
Previous experience/certification in the operation of forklifts preferred
Acceptable driving history per requirements
Must be able to pass drug screen
Must be able to pass background check
