The Newberry, SC facility will produce washing machines and other home appliances.

Potential employment opportunities exist for:

 

 

 

Senior Machine Operator / Machinist (Injection Machine, Press Machine)

 

The Machine Operator / Machinist set up, maintain and operate machinery.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Set up machines (Injection Machine, Press Machine etc) to start a production cycle
  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines Inspect parts precisely with measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read and write in English or to communicate in American Sign Language
  • The ability to stand up for 8 to 10 hours a day, plus additional overtime as needed
  • Available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
  • Flexible work availability and able to work overtime as needed with same-day notice
  • The ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach and lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis
  • The ability to pass a drug test and background check
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
  • 7 or more years of relevant/related work experience

Preferred/Desired:

  • Associate’s degree in a skilled trades field Millwright or Electrician certificate
  • Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Proficient with the use of shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders and welders
  • The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects
  • The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other
  • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other
  • Have a strong desire for personal and professional development 

 

 

Starting wage of $18. Samsung offers a comprehensive benefits package.
