Team Leader Trainer

 

 

 

 

Summary/Objective:  

 

Group Leaders are an extension of the shift supervisor assisting in managing the activities of the Production Floor to achieve optimum safety, quality, costs, efficiency, and machine utilization while assuring internal and external customer satisfactions.   

 

Essential Functions:                   

  • Verify process using correct material, verses BOM and document lot traceability
  • Perform job start up and shutdown procedure (Start of Shift or S.O.S. and mold set-up)
  • Ensure 5s standards are being met on the shop floor
  • Verify that the PCA SOS sheets are correct.
  • Break Relieving of PCA’s on the shop floor when applicable.
  • Verify operator conformance to work instructions
  • Coordinate NCMR’s when necessary
  • Training and retraining of new and experienced machine operators:
    • Operator Instructions (Packing Parts, Labeling Boxes, Workstation Layout, Scrap Sheets, etc.)
    • Quality Issues common to the parts produced (Terminology, identification of defect, locations of the defects, etc.)
    • Paperwork and procedures
  • Monitor and update Pace Boards/ Mold Change Board Monitors quality and scrap from machines during shift.
  • Performs Mini-Audits on parts produced ahead of and in unison of the quality department.
  • Tracks pace board and reacts as needed, then communicate to supervisor
  • Assist supervisor and all operators during and after the completion of the shift (s)
  • Help with the transition of shift this includes completion of paperwork, communication, and housekeeping
  • Daily/Weekly review of operator instruction booklets for correct documentation and procedure compliance. This includes updating the training matrix posted on the board
  • Review the operator books at each machine daily to ensure all documentation is being performed in accordance of the company procedures.
  • Review of the work instructions to ensure operators are following procedures, and the instructions are accurate, as well as easy to follow. If changes are needed, note these changes and inform the Quality Department to have instructions updated
  • When a new operator comes in, the need to ensure there is understanding is vital. Pairing them up with an approved trainee operator is crucial if you cannot spend the one-on-one time with them.
  • The Lead operator/trainer will work with the startup of new jobs to aid in set-up of workstations. By taking part of a new job, you are able to give input on the written instructions, making changes to adhere to the best method of performing the job.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:   

         

This is a Full-time position Monday-Friday, core work hours 1st shift- 7:00 am– 3:30 pm; 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:30pm; 3rd shift 11:00pm- 7:30am Flexible hours to be available Must be available to work weekends when requested from supervisor.

 

Required Education and Experience: 

 

  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
