Process Technician

 

 

 

 

Summary/Objective:  Works with production team member to ensure process methods are met and obtained. Provide technical support to the manufacturing facility

 

 

Essential Functions:                   

  • Accurately maintain and complete the Process Monitoring sheet.
  • Updates job books. Pull last shots upon shutdown.
  • Complete Run Sheet and other tracking forms.
  • Change date/day wheels.
  • Must adhere to all safety and environmental policies.
  • Evaluate equipment for proper operation; notify maintenance for work orders if needed.
  • Verify quality standard using gages and measuring devices.
  • Seek Continuous Improvement methods to improve efficiency, quality and reduction of scrap.
  • Participate in one cost save initiative idea annually.
  • Interact with Maintenance, Quality Control, Engineering and Tool room with Problem Solving issues to ensure production is not disrupted.
  • Ensure proper working order and cleanliness of tools.
  • Documents Mold setter Checklist MTS-F-003.
  • Performs job changeovers per operating instructions
  • Adhere to departmental budgetary allocations.
  • Ensure proper Start up and shut downs of the Molding presses.
  • Ability to start and shut down robots.
  • Basic programming knowledge of all robots utilized in the facility.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Work Environment:            

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration and/or airborne particles.  May have exposure to various chemicals.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Exposure to varying temperatures in the manufacturing area, ranging from 45-100 or more degrees.  May have exposure to outside weather conditions. Dealing with different types of people and set goals can be stimulating but demanding.  Due to the nature of this work and deadlines, this job occasionally works more than 40 hours per week.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, stoop and walk; use hands, wrists and fingers to repetitively handle or feel objects.  Reach above head level and below waist level with hands and arms; climb for machining operations and troubleshooting; push, pull, twist and bend, may be in awkward body positions. Must be able to talk and hear.  Employee must frequently lift, move or carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:   

         

This is a Full-time position 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m./4:30 p.m. - 5:00 a.m., Monday-Friday, core work hours Flexible hours to be available Must be available to work weekends when requested from supervisor.

 

Required Education and Experience: 

 

  • Must be able to interact with coworkers and customers in a cooperative, respectful and professional manner.
  • Must have the ability to solve technical math problems (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, metric/English conversions).
  • The ability to relay information in a logical manner.
  • Possess computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Participant and/or member of team building, Problem Solving, or Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of injection molding resins (nylons, acetal, PVC, etc.)
  • Must possess safe work habits, a mature attitude and good attendance record and the ability to follow instructions in a timely manner.
  • High School diploma or GED. 2-5 years experience in processing of Injection Molding, including technical experience.
  • Complete Training in Scientific molding or equal to.
