Job Duties:

 

Front-Line representative for the Company related to Customer’s current, past, and prospective orders or quotations. Ensures daily communicates with Customers regarding order status, complaints and shipping confirmations to ensure overall Customer satisfaction.

 

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Communicates with customers by phone, fax, or e-mail regarding the following:
    • Processes customer orders by entering data into computer system.
    • Sends order confirmations to customers to verify receipt of order.
    • Provides customers with shipment confirmations as requested.
    • Notifies customers of any deviations in ship dates.
    • Completes all necessary correspondence with customers.
    • Documents customer complaints and routes to the appropriate department for corrective action if claim is found to be legitimate.
  • Provides product price quotes to customers upon request.
  • Reviews customer purchase orders to determine that proper prices and ship dates are listed for each order. 
  • Contacts customers if errors are found.
  • Generates reports to determine the status of open orders.
  • Confers with production, sales, warehouse, and/or shipping departments to expedite orders or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Checks inventory levels to determine if order quantities are in stock; places order for production if stock quantity is not sufficient to fill order.
  • Collects and sends product samples to customers as requested.
  • Advises customers about product options including existing products as well as newly developed.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge with ERP or customer service database entry system such as SAP, Oracle, etc.
  • Experience in commodity or manufacturing product customer service or sales Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to foster a Team environment through cross-training, intra/external department collaboration, and Customer/Sales focused partnership

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university is preferred.
  • Five to Seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
