Maintenance Technician

 

 

 

  Job Duties
 
1st Shift 
  • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery, mechanical, and electrical equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing equipment in a timely and cost efficient manner.
  • Develop and execute a preventative maintenance schedule for plant equipment and buildings Inspects and tests electrical equipment, signal level electrical circuits, 24 VDC and 120/480 VAC electrical power circuits and examines mechanical equipment to diagnose problems.
  • Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical and mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures.
  • Installs motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic machinery used in the fabrication process. Maintain and repair production paint booth and associated equipment.
  • Maintain and repair conveying systems, frame transportation system and lifting equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair PLC-based control systems, variable frequency drive systems, servo drives and pneumatic controls.
  • Provide support and complete facility generated work orders in a timely manner, as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 Experience Required: 

  • Associate’s degree in an engineering technology or related field from an accredited college or university with two years in maintenance OR High School diploma (or GED) with 7+ years of experience in maintenance
  • Five (5) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant operation
  • Two (2) years of experience with IT networks, including infrastructure support, hardware and systems maintenance
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems, Siemens PLCs preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents.
  • Proficient in the execution of methods and procedures
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office minimum)
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities
