Job Summary: The purpose of the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) Quality Auditor is to audit vehicle quality, vehicle processing, and accessory installations within the VPC at the Volvo factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Follow and promote all safety rules and procedures.
  • Complete daily inspections on all newly installed accessories and a predetermined percentage of daily yard inventory.
  • During inspections, ensure all vehicles from the VPC are repaired, upgraded, accessorized, and released from the VPC within Volvo standards and guidelines.
  • Track all data collected in daily audits and prepare spreadsheets, graphs and charts to reflect all finding.
  • Work with VPC Supervisor and Port Quality Manager to provide audit results and feedback to facility employees in order to improve overall performance in all departments.
  • Cross-functionally work with necessary groups for current and future Port of Entry (POE) and VPC requirements to support company objectives.

 

Job Qualifications:

 

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • Work Keys:
    • Applied Math: Level 3 or higher
    • Graphic Literacy:  Level 3 or higher
    • Workplace Documents: Level 3 or higher
  • A certificate or degree in Automotive Technology preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licenses and be able to drive vehicles in tight areas

    OR

  • One year of quality or auditing experience in a manufacturing experience

    OR

  • One year of automotive technician or automotive mechanic experience

    OR

  • One year of auto body repair experience
  • Possess above average level of computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) preferred.
  • Ability to display a good understanding of the organization’s mission, goals and strategies.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work well within a team environment or alone without constant supervision.
  • Essential functions:
    • Lifting and moving up to 50lbs
    • Standing and walking for extended periods
    • Bending
    • Squatting
    • Kneeling
    • Climbing stairs
    • 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities or unexpected situations.
  • Availability to work any shift (weekends and overtime).
  • Push for continuous improvement by looking for new and innovative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The starting wage for a Quality Auditor is $18.50 with a very competitive pay progression schedule. Volvo Cars also offers a comprehensive benefits package.
