Job Summary: The purpose of the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) Master Technician will be to complete all processes associated with accessory installations, training future employees and vehicle repair at the VPC. 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Safety Minded
    • Comply with all Volvo and industry safety rules and regulations to promote safe work environment.
    • Communicate clearly with all employees to help promote a safe work environment.
  • Driving vehicles in and out of VPC Building.
  • Complete automotive mechanical repairs and mechanical upgrades.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and note any needed repairs.
  • Removal of damaged parts.
  • Part inspections on all parts prior to installation.
  • Make minor or major repairs of all identified vehicles.
  • Install all new or repaired parts.
  • Perform facility 5S duties daily.
  • Follow all attendance policies.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED.
  • WorkKeys:
    • Applied Math:  Level 3 or higher
    • Graphic Literacy:  Level 3 or higher
    • Workplace Documents: Level 3 or higher
  • Certificate or degree in Automotive Technology.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive vehicles in tight areas.
  • Five (5) years automotive mechanical experience required.
  • Experience with Volvo cars or ASE certifications is preferred.
  • Must have automotive technical experience using computers for diagnostic test and system upgrades.
  • Experience and knowledge of hand, power, and pneumatic tools and hydraulic lifts.  
  • Basic knowledge of technical equipment (Computers, Two-Way Radios and Scanners).
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work alone without constant supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and relate well with other employees. 
  • Must be able to handle constant exposure to the elements of outdoor weather.
  • Must be able to handle constant, bending, kneeling, twisting, lift up to 50lbs, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work overtime, any shift, and weekends.

Volvo Cars offers a comprehensive benefits package. Master Technician starting wage is $21.00.
