Job Summary: The purpose of the role is to contribute to the geometrical product assurance.

 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Participate in VCMS activities.
  • First line analysis of measurements.
  • Report & follow-up deviations in the team's deliverables.
  • Participate in analysis for improvement of production tools.
  • Participate in new programs in function of product quality.
  • Support production in achieving Quality demands, as well as geometrical, functional, and safety demands by problem solving in the first line by executing product verification measurements.
  • Execute the work planning and report deviations to the Team leader.
  • Share knowledge within team.
  • Suggest improvement proposals.
  • Support in the implementation of improvements.
  • Clear communication regarding absence.
  • Search for, and participate in relevant educations to ensure you are able to execute your tasks in the best possible way. Ensure necessary competence is updated. (Including self-education). Each team member is responsible to be able to perform all standard work.
  • Work according to the standardized work methods, and escalate when the standardized procedures aren’t effective. Secure good information flow to colleagues & team members through correct communication & logging.
  • Support the Team leader as required in regards to administrative tasks e.g.: Team board, Team level planning, Action Plans, etc.
  • Execute the main tasks in the best possible way, with a correct QDFIPS mindset. Responsible for building up and maintaining the correct level of competence & skill to execute the tasks needed in this role. 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • HS diploma and 5 years of experience
  • Experience as a CNC Machinist or equivalent
  • Familiarity with the use of calipers, micrometers and other instruments used in a machining environment.
  • Knowledge of the production process
  • Basic communication skills
  • Systems & applications (Maximo, MS office) VCMS
  • WorkKeys
    • Applied Math Level 3 or Higher
    • Graphic Literacy: Level 4 or higher
    • Workplace Documents: Level 4 or higher
  • Participate in DMAIC processes
  • Software knowledge for relevant tools within Geometry (CM4D, measurement equipment, PC Dmis, CAMIO, CAD programs, Team center, … )
  • English speaking & writing
  • Basic workflow knowledge: DMI’s (Dimensional Measuring Interface Standards)

     

    Preferred Qualifications

     

    • Associates Degree or certificate in Machine Tooling or Tooling Technology
    • Experience working as a CNC Machinist
