Assistant Juvenile Detention Director (#CO0329)

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to supervise the detention staff and perform administrative duties under the direction of the Detention Director.  Major work responsibilities include managing a juvenile detention facility shift, supervising employees, resolving and investigating emergencies and complaints, managing documents and files related to federal, state and professional standards, manages employee training programs, and assisting the director with facility operations.  The incumbent is supervised by the Juvenile Detention Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in criminal or juvenile justice or a social or behavioral science and three years of experience in a secured juvenile facility including two years of leadership or supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
