Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to function at advanced level of professional practice and with advanced knowledge, skills and abilities, the Program Manger-Senior II position provides senior level representation of the Behavioral Health Administration or Maryland Department of Health in order to support and participate in the Management level of leadership in fulfilling regulatory responsibilities and contractual obligations for the development, oversight, monitoring, and direction of the Public Behavioral Health System. This position leads and supervises compliance, accreditation and behavioral health licensing staff as the Director of Managed Care and Quality Improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human services field, or business administration, healthcare management, public administration, or related field of study, or a Juris Doctorate.

Experience:  Six years experience in health care services.  Work experience must include duties involving auditing or monitoring compliance of program activities to standards and regulations; or conducting investigations involving the provision and compliance of health care services;  or monitoring program operations in order to recommend or implement improvements.  At least three years of experience must have been in a management or supervisory role.  

Note:  A Bachelor's degree and additional experience as described above may be substituted for the Master's or JD on a year for year basis.

 

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 Candidates with experience in behavioral health care and knowledge of Medicaid and managed care are desired.
