Main Purpose of Job

The Casino Compliance Lead will assist the Casino Compliance Supervisor in the performance of his/her duties by helping the supervisor to maintain scheduling and staffing; ensuring that all reports are completed and submitted timely; coordinating daily duties for members of the unit; ensuring that the units workspace is properly maintained and equipped; reporting performance deficiencies to the supervisor; any other duties as assigned by the supervisor and; performing the duties of the supervisor in an acting capacity in the supervisor's absence.

POSITION DUTIES

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

·        Performing all duties required of a Casino Compliance Representative (CCR) to include certifying revenue from the Video Lottery Terminals (VLT), receiving complaints from the public, receiving shipments of State-owned equipment, monitoring facility employees and vendors to ensure the various aspects of the casino’s internal controls are adhered to.

 - Maintaining employee schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.

 - Assigning duties to members of the unit as necessary.

 - Ensuring that the workspace is properly maintained and equipped.

 - Reviewing employee reports for accuracy and completeness.

 - Any other duties as assigned by the Casino Compliance Supervisor.

 - This position will be based out of the Ocean Downs Casino located in Worchester, MD 21230 but will report to the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency headquarters in Baltimore when necessary.  Individuals must be willing to work all shifts. Employees in this classification are deemed essential employees and must report for work or remain at work during declared state of emergency conditions to support continued lottery and casino operations. Employees are subject to call-in 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Experience : One year experience in investigative or professional work.  
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute addition at experience in investigative staff or profession at work on a year-for-year basis for  the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute addition at graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U . S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operation at program s or procedures with recommendation s for improvement on a year to year basis for the required education  an d experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        At least one year of experience conducting regulatory compliance work.

·        At least one year of experience as a lead or supervisor.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

This recruitment is limited to current Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency employees.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
