Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Provides administrative staff support to the Program Manager and Chief Inspectors in the administration of the Safety Inspection Program by assisting in developing and implementing new and revised policy, procedures and processes consistent with Departmental goals.
Consults with the Chief Inspector and industry stakeholders identifying objects in violation of the law and ensuring that appropriate action is taken. Identifies staffing patterns and needs throughout the State and assigns inspector work assignments accordingly.
Obtains, analyzes and interprets information submitted from Authorized Inspection Agencies (AIA) and Authorized Third Party Inspectors enduring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards and resolving any problems that may be evident.
Develops statistical reports used by the Chief Inspector and AIA identifying inconsistencies in inspection activity, providing follow-up ensuring that inconsistencies are addressed appropriately.
Conducts research and investigations compiling data used in compliance cases. Reviewing case files independently, determining if citation is appropriate, issuing citation.
Provides other general administrative duties that support the Safety Inspection Program. Receive and distribute mail, check payment processing, customer service; responding to inquiries, mailing inspection notices and certificates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.
2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
