LOCATION OF POSITION
The Maryland Insurance Administration is recruiting for a Senior Enforcement Officer. This position serves in a lead capacity to lower level Enforcement Officer positions. Job responsibilities include assigning and reviewing the work of enforcement Officers during the course of examinations and investigations; investigating and analyzing complaints, including, but not limited to life, health insurance producers and agencies as well as licensing cases. This position also conducts interviews as necessary with producers, insureds, witnesses and company representatives, complainants, witnesses, and other persons, and if appropriate, prepares administrative charges and testifies at hearings. Drafts chronological comprehensive written reports containing pertinent facts and exhibits that will prove a violation of or compliance with Maryland Insurance Law.
The incumbent would be responsible for developing methods of investigations; drafting consent orders and orders, assisting attorneys in the preparation of the case, testifying at administrative hearings, and preparing and submitting finalized enforcement recommendations to the Chief Enforcement Officer, the Assistant Chief, and Support Staff.
This position requires knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations enforced by the Maryland Insurance Administration, as well as the various entities under the regulatory authority of the Maryland Insurance Administration. In-State travel may be required.
This is a Special Appointment position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.
