Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Health Care Commission is an independent State agency responsible for planning for health system needs and promoting informed decision-making by providing timely and accurate information on the quality of health care services to policymakers, purchasers, providers, and the public.  The MHCC maintains a consumer website, through which provider performance and quality information is made available to the public.  The Maryland Healthcare Quality Reports website can be accessed at healthcarequality.mhcc.maryland.gov.

The Quality Measurement and Reporting Center, within the MHCC, is seeking a Program Manager to provide project management and analytic support to the Commission's consumer focused reporting initiatives. This senior level positon will lead the effort to expand data collection and performance measurement and reporting to outpatient service providers (e.g., ambulatory surgery centers, hospital outpatient departments). The position will also provide technical and analytic support to the Center toward development of issue briefs, analyses, and concise, consumer-oriented feature stories using available clinical, demographic and financial data and CMS, NQF and AHRQ measures. The incumbent should have the ability to analyze health care data from conceptualization through report generation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Care Administration, Public Policy, or closely related field and three years’ related experience. Demonstrated   proficiency with MS Excel, SAS or other statistical package is required.   Use of presentation software and strong communication skills also required.
