Main Purpose of Job

The Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC) is seeking a highly motivated and talented Junior Full Stack Developer to develop, support and maintain all MMCC computer systems. The Junior Developer will work at the direction of the Senior Full Stack Developer. This position requires an individual who is a results-oriented self-starter who works well with others and has excellent communication skills. This is a one year full-time State of Maryland contract employee position with an option to renew. The position does not provide benefits, however, full time State contract employees may purchase State health benefits at the State employee rate. The position is based in Baltimore, Maryland.

The specific duties of the Junior Full Stack Developer position include:

    1.  Development, maintenance, trouble-shooting and debugging of .NET applications for the web utilizing, C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC with Razor, Bootstrap, Entity Framework and LINQ

    2.  Development of SQL Queries (complex joins, stored procedures, transactions), XML (Schemas, consumption and translations) in SQL Server 2012

    3.  Troubleshoot problems related to making data available to system users - user interface online and via mobile devices.

The CURRENT production/development environment is: SQL Server 2012, Visual Studio 2015, .NET 4.6 and MVC 5.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:   

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline, or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field. A copy of your transcript must be attached to your application.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who works for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
