Main Purpose of Job
This position performs general maintenance repairs and services to maintain the building and grounds of the Public Safety Education and Training Center. General maintenance and repairs include HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry/construction, etc. This position may be responsible for the supervision of other maintenance personnel to include training, assignment of work and review of maintenance tasks performed by various levels of employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of the eighth grade.
Experience: Two years of experience in the building maintenance or building construction trades including two years of responsibility for assigning, reviewing and approving the work of other building maintenance or building construction workers.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
