Main Purpose of Job
The position is an at-will, management service position that serves as the Assistant Director for Child & Adult Services, for the Wicomico County Department of Social Services. In this capacity, the incumbent would be responsible for the administration of programs such as Child Protective Services, Foster Care, Family Preservation, and Adult Services, serving clients in Wicomico County. This position also serves as part of the Leadership Council for the agency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from a college or university approved by the Council on Social Work Education.
Experience: Seven years of professional experience in a social work setting in a public or private agency. Four years of this experience must have been in an administrative, supervisory, or consultative capacity.

Four years of experience in Child Welfare.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Limited to candidates willing to accept full-time employment in Salisbury, Maryland.
Salisbury is located in Wicomico County, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland--2.5 hours east of Washington, DC, 2.5 hours southeast of Baltimore, and 3 hours south of Philadelphia. You can view our location in Google Maps here.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees are required to be licensed as a Certified Social Worker-Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners for a period of time specified by the Board prior to appointment to social work supervisor positions in State service. (COMAR 10.42.08.04 effective July 1, 2004.)

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
