Main Purpose of Job

This position provides leadership direction and supervision over the Environmental Health Division of the Calvert County Health Department including responsibility for employees and programs managed by the Division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree in biological, physical, environmental science or chemistry, and six years of experience involving inspections and investigations in the field of environmental health or closely related environmental health experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.  A master’s degree in Public Health or Environmental Health Science can substitute for one year non-supervisory experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess and maintain a current license or be eligible to obtain licensure as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists.
