Main Purpose of Job

To collect all delinquent accounts referred from various MD state government agencies in the quickest, efficient, and most cost effective manner while employing the highest professional standards. Communicate with the Collections Manager regarding personnel and operational issues as required; supervise Collection Agents who perform collection duties at the Collections call center; approve/deny leave request and review timesheets for subordinate staff via Workday; maintain control of overtime review and resolve complex questions and issues from subordinate staff; monitor GNAV system and other production reports for quality of service. This is a special appointment position that will serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience:  Four years of full time experience collecting overdue payments for delinquent accounts owe.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to undergo a criminal background check as part of the selection process due to the financial nature of the job.

SELECTION PROCESS

Successful candidates will be ranked as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified and place on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.
