LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Western Maryland Center, Hagerstown MD
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is responsibility for the production and service of meals in accordance with the Policies and Procedures Manual and Health and Sanitation Regulations. This position is also responsible for supervising and instructing dietary personnel on various aspects of the Dietary Department. This position may be required to fill in as Cook on occasion.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation, of which one (1) year must include supervising workers engaged in quantity food production or service.
Notes: 1. Additional experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.
2. Additional education in the area of food service management, nutritional care, institutional administration or related area may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the non-supervisory required experience.
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached or carry an electronic pager.
