Introduction

We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and creative student to work with our EEO Compliance Division (EEO).

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) serves as the lead government agency for the State of Maryland. DBM assists State agencies in providing effective, efficient, and fiscally sound government to the citizens of Maryland. We help agencies obtain the fiscal, capital, and personnel resources needed to provide services to Maryland citizens. We are dedicated to providing advice and assistance with professionalism, state-of-the-art technology, modern management techniques, and teamwork.

POSITION DUTIES

- Research and identify diverse publications/resources that can be used by recruiters when working to attract a specific demographic for various job opportunities; create a database to record all information.  

- Research and identify movies that can be utilized during the movie and discussion series that include EEO components which can be followed up with an interactive group discussion.  

- Design and develop a comprehensive EEO Complaint chart which shows a distinct comparison of employees’ rights to file with various state and federal agencies.  

- Assists the Office of the Statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinator (OSEEOC) staff on projects as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The prospective student must be currently enrolled in a college/university undergraduate or graduate degree, certificate program or recent graduate; exhibits an interest in Equal Employment Opportunity, Human Resources or Employment Law.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Must be willing to work in Baltimore City

This internship opportunity is part-time work and will last approximately 10 weeks, typical business hours  (9-5) and Monday through Friday. Interested candidates must be able to work during normal business hours.

Applicants may be evaluated based on education, training and experience in relation to the requirements and qualifications listed for the position.  You must possess the minimum qualifications in order to be selected for a State job. Therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your application. Report all related education, experience, dates and hours of work.

Credit is given for relevant part-time, temporary or volunteer experience based on the number of hours worked per week. All information concerning your qualifications must be included on your application and submitted by the closing date. We will not consider incomplete applications.

Successful candidates will be placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.
