Main Purpose of Job

Provides direct leadership and specialized technical assistance in the planning, implementation/service delivery, and administration of Addictions programs and services to eligible individuals with disabilities in support of program objectives of the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) and the Workforce & Technology Center (WTC), which contributes to the Division's goal of promoting independence and employment of individuals with disabilities.

POSITION DUTIES

Manage, coordinate and monitor the WTC Addictions Support program and services for DORS/WTC. Provide Addictions Assessments, monitoring/sample collection and on-going counseling for consumers referred to WTC or served in local DORS offices. Facilitate psycho-educational support group meetings related to Addictions issues. Provide Addictions education/prevention services for consumers participating in WTC Training Programs. Attend consumer team meetings related to Addictions issues, develop consumer Action Plans, and provide recommendations for interventions/treatment. Provide recommendations and/or coordinate referrals for consumers to community-based services when warranted. Serve as a liaison between WTC and community Addictions programs. Serve as a resource and provide technical assistance, training and education to DORS/WTC staff on the awareness and understanding of addictions issues and interpretation of clinical reports. Monitor and implement the urinalysis and alcohol sensor testing systems within the WTC and/or DORS offices. Complete required documentation to reflect the provision of Addictions Assessments and/or counseling for consumers utilizing this support service. Communicate with referral sources and WTC staff regarding consumer progress according to program, AWARE and DORS standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a counseling related field (preferred) or a closely related field.   

EXPERIENCE:

Two years of professional experience in providing Addictions Counseling services.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Training/licensure/credentialing for provision of Addictions Counseling services is required.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bilingual skills and experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be either certified or licensed by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Certificated Professional Counselor-Alcohol and Drug or licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
