The Director for the Office of Genetics & People with Special Health Care Needs provides experienced public health leadership in promoting the work of the office, performing highly responsible programmatic and administrative work at the level of a program manager with extensive training and expertise in public health. The Director ensures accountability and integrity of all fiscal matters, personnel actions, and procurement activities of the Office.

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university and two years of medical practice, preferably at a supervisory or administrative level. The successful applicant will also possess at least three years of demonstrated public health experience at either the federal, state, or local level.

The successful applicant should have three years of experience related to maternal and child health in particular: infant hearing, and/or children with special health care needs. In addition, the successful applicant should have experience with forming and maintaining diverse partnerships. The successful applicant should have at least three years of management experience including responsibility for developing budgets, tracking expenditures, and staff recruitment and management
