Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to maintain a safe and clean outdoor environment in a large state psychiatric facility. This position will be responsible for: mowing, trimming, planting and mulching all required grounds areas; removing snow from all roads, parking lots and sidewalks; handling road repairs; landscaping all areas; moving donated items from storage area to work area (volunteer services); and, performing maintenance on all grounds equipment throughout the year.
Experience: Six months of experience in the care and maintenance of grounds.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
