Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for the overall direction, planning, and organization of all aspects of the Information Technology Department for the Office of Health Care Quality. The position functions as the strategic leader over IT managing and directing the quality and timeliness of the unit's work. Additionally, this position is responsible for the: 1) unit's strategic planning, 2) agency's strategic planning related to technology, 3) management of network operations, 4) maintenance of all systems, 5) hardware and software procurement, 6) telecommunications, 7) audio/visual equipment to ensure optimal functionality, 8) providing direct supervision to IT staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 4 years of professional IT experience, preferably in a health or human services environment, that must have included major project management responsibility.  A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant should have a working knowledge of strategic planning (short-term and long-term) network operations, and maintenance of information technology systems.
