Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Epidemiology Lead for the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control. S/he provides epidemiological direction and guidance to the Director and Deputy Director of the Center. This position provides oversight and direct supervision of the Program Managers of the Maryland Cancer Registry and the Surveillance and Evaluation Unit within the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control. [Note: due to the nature of this work, the job requires advanced proficiency in Statistical Analysis Software, SAS]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 6 years of professional health or human service experience, including 2 years at the supervisory or management level.  Candidates must also have proficiency in Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) with at least three years of demonstrated use.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant should have experience in workforce development, including recruitment, retention, progressive discipline, and career development support. The successful applicant should also have program management experience in non-communicable disease prevention and control.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.
