Main Purpose of Job

This position is the coordinator for the Maternal, Infant, and Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program that provides Healthy Families America home visiting to improve outcomes and reduces health and developmental disparities for at-risk expectant families with young children. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developmental screens, depression screens, safety screens and providing evidence based curriculum to enhance family functioning and strengthen parent child relationships. This is a full-time contractual position requiring occasional evening work to meet the client's home visiting needs. The selected applicant must be willing to travel to and go into residents' homes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

NOTE:

1.  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

2.  Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The selected applicant must be willing to travel to and go into residents' homes.  Occasional evening work to meet the clients' s home visiting needs is required.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated. The evaluation may be a rating of your application based on your education, training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position. BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.  As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
