Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to support the Director by assisting in the management and/or oversight of programs to preserve children and families that are funded through the Governor's Office of Children (GOC), by county government designation. This position, under supervision, will participate in Local Management Board (LMB) evaluation committee to monitor LMB programs which includes staff supervision and development, and other program planning and evaluation. This position may also monitor LMB contract deliverables, and other programs for children and families of Worcester County, in accordance with all county, State, and Federal regulations. This position will also work cooperatively with the GOC and the Interagency Children's Cabinet as well as prepare program reports for submission to the GOC.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling or a related field.

Note:

1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
