LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Human Resource Services is currently accepting applications for the full time, permanent position of Agency Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator. This position will coordinate implementation of the department's Strategic Diversity and Inclusion Plan. Duties include:
- Monitoring progress towards completion of the plan's objectives and strategies, and coordinating participation in the plan among all DNR units
- Developing and maintaining relationships with community partners
- Increasing and coordinating recruitment outreach activities for the department as a whole
- Tracking and analyzing employment statistics to assist in evaluating program progress
- Developing and coordinating internship programs for the DNR
- Researching and recommending training on diversity and inclusion for DNR staff
- Supporting efforts to expand the interest of diverse populations in DNR natural resources, cultural, historical, regulatory, administrative and recreational activities
Please note, occasional weekend work will be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
For education obtained outside of the United States (U.S.), you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the U.S., please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html prior to hire.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet the minimum and selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
One year of professional experience in the development and/or administration of diversity programs, human resources programs, environmental programs, or community programs.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience developing and monitoring project plans of a department wide scope
• Experience working with underrepresented populations
• Experience in the collection and analysis of employment data
• Fluency in a second language
• Organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
