7800 Harkins Road, Lanham, Maryland 20706.
The Department of Housing and Community Development's Headquarters Office is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrolton Metro stop.
POSITION DUTIES
This position works within the Research Department as a Housing Research Assistant & GIS Analyst to augment unit to research and analyze housing, demographic and economic issues, conduct surveys and collect data, analyze data using mathematical models and statistical techniques. Position will use data collected to prepare reports, tables, and charts that present research results as well as interpret and forecast future trends.
This position will help support the GIS unit within Research by collecting and or scrubbing program data for mapping requests for internal and external clients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience collecting & analyzing demographic and economic data.

One year of experience scrubbing market indicator data, census data, and/or foreclosure data.

Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.

Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
