This is a position specific recruitment for the Department of Natural Resources, Fishing and Boating Services. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

The Department of Natural Resources, Fishing and Boating Services, Regulatory and Legislative Review Division, Policy Management Program is currently accepting applications for a part-time Administrator I. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development, preparation, adoption and implementation of statewide fisheries regulations, legislation and policy as well as the administration of the statewide Fisheries penalty system. The duties include assisting in writing and researching regulations and legislation and administering the fishing license penalty systems.

For education obtained outside of the United States (U.S.), you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the U.S., please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html prior to hire.

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

If you are not using the substitution as noted above, then one year of professional work experience must have involved working with regulations, legislation, or natural resource planning.

1. At least one year of work experience with administrative penalties, writing regulations and/or legislation, environmental policy, law, or fisheries management.

2. Graduate level degree in environmental policy, environmental law, biology, fisheries management, or a related science field.

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
