This is a Management Service position. The incumbent will serve at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

POSITION DUTIES

The incumbent of this position will manage the Taxpayer Service Section of the Revenue Administration Division by providing taxpayers and tax preparers with excellent service while treating them with respect and understanding. This is accomplished through oversight of work performed by three main units, Call Center, Correspondence Unit and the Training Unit. This position reports directly to an Assistant Director of the Revenue Administration Division.

PLEASE NOTE: Must be willing and able to work overtime on Saturdays, holidays and other than normal work hours when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year college or university.

Experience:  Three years of experience working in a call center, customer service environment. Three years of this experience must have involved managerial experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and knowledge of federal and Maryland state tax laws and forms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office or comparable programs.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure or in situations where priorities change.
  • Demonstrate ability to motivate others to achieve high volume, high quality production.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize, lead and manage multiple functions and tasks.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training and experience.  It is essential that you submit complete and accurate information on your application in order to determine if you meet the qualifications as specified above, including a resume and unofficial copy of you college diploma or transcripts; however, resumes will not be accepted in lieu of completing the application.

Qualifying applicants are subject to an oral interview. Prior to appointment, the selected candidate must successfully undergo a comprehensive background investigation including a review of criminal, MVA and tax records; and determination of legal authorization to work in the United States or under the United States Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
