LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to research, develop and implement high priority long term services and supports policy initiatives for the Office of Nursing and Waiver Services. The position supports the Executive Director (Office of Health Services), Director (Long Term Services and Supports Administration) and Deputy Director (Office of Nursing and Waiver Services) by researching, developing, evaluating, analyzing, and writing reports. The position serves as an expert consultant and technical advisor on home and community-based waiver services, nursing services, and long term services and supports policy. The incumbent participates in and leads stakeholder committees and workgroups for policy development, and represents the Long Term Services and Supports Administration, Office of Nursing and Waiver Services, at public meetings on long term services and supports.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
