Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to evaluate, monitor, and analyze community systems of care for programs requesting eligibility as a Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) designated Evidence Based Practice (EBP) program. This position will also audit BHA licensed and/or regulated behavioral health programs and individual service providers to assure that services are provided according to state and federal requirements and standards of practice. This position is critical to BHA to assure that quality services are provided to Maryland citizens and that public funds are spent according to state and federal requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling or a related field.

Experience: Five years of professional experience in health services, two years of which must have been professional work related to treatment and services for mentally ill patients.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate for this recruitment should possess at least one of the following:

  • professional experience in the provision of services in the Public Behavioral Health System
  • strong analytical, time management, organizational, report writing and/or communication skills
  • computer skills with proficiency in the use of Google Apps, MS Excel and MS Word

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
