Main Purpose of Job
This position will function as the Clinical Supervisor of Behavioral Health (CSBH) within the Caroline County Health Department. This position will be responsible for monitoring the daily operations of the Caroline County Behavioral Health (CCBH) team and providing program oversight for the Diversion Assessment and Referral to Treatment (DART) program. This position will supervise all counselors employed by CCBH, handle disciplinary matters and ensure program professionalism is maintained. This position will be responsible for the daily clinical operation of the CCBH program, training new employees, ensuring adherence to policy and procedures, ensuring treatment plans, discharges and evaluations are completed within acceptable time limits, as well as running reports and tracking services to assure billing accuracy and unit budgets are met. This position will ensure accreditation requirements are within compliance and that customers and referring agencies needs are met in a timely fashion. This position will also assume the responsibility of carrying a caseload of customers, both from the CCBH and the DART program, and providing oversight of groups, intakes, family and individual sessions to ensure adherence to agency's mission statement. This position supervises Community Health Outreach Workers and peer-specialists employed by the program.
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers. A copy of your current license or license verification must accompany your application.
Experience: Four years experience rendering clinical social work services in a health care or treatment setting subsequent to the receipt of an approved Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Social Work classifications or Social Work specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology, and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates must be licensed as a Certified Social Worker, Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have the license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Department of Health . A copy of your current license or license verification should accompany your application.
2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
